Systems Technician
A premier New York Consulting group and large IBM partner seeks a systems technician for our New York headquarters.
NOTE: This is a network and desktop combined position. You will be supporting both types of systems at all times.
Primary Duties:
Support users in our New York office as well as remote offices and International Locations
Provide in-office and remote support to 250+ users worldwide
Experience & Skills Requirements:
Must have excellent root-cause assessment, troubleshooting and remediation skills for the full scope of local and WAN network issues.
Ability to thoroughly analyze, test, document, and modify desktop and network infrastructure, procedures and configuration
Mid Level Experience with Cisco routers and switches
Experience with administration on Microsoft exchange 2003 and 2007
Mid Level Experience with Virtual Technologies such as Vmware
Experience with Symantec Backup Exec 12.X for enterprise backups
Ability to support Windows 2000/XP/Vista desktop operating systems
Ability to support Windows Server 2003 and Windows server 2008
Ability to support Microsoft Office 2003/2007
Proficient with network cabling, installation, patch panels etc.
Windows 2003/2008 Active Directory experience.
Desktop imaging using Symantec Ghost
Experience with VOIP telephones in an office environment
Support of Lenovo, IBM and HP desktops and laptops including parts replacement and warranty service
Experience with server installation, configuration and troubleshooting in an IBM, HP and Dell environment
Experience with local and network printer troubleshooting and repair.
Other Requirements
Light travel required at times.
Night and Weekend work will be required when needed.

Willing to learn a wide variety of new technologies
Education Requirements:
Minimum three years hands-on experience supporting network and desktop systems.
B.S. in Computer related field preferred but not required.
MCP, MCSE, A+, certifications a big plus.
Cisco CCNA or higher certifications a big plus
Compensation: $46,000
